Roman Baths in Bath, England

Bath. What a beautiful little city that, I believe, doesn’t get enough exposure. Before traveling to England last year, I never heard much about Bath, nor did I know what there was to do there. I’m glad I decided to check it out.

It’s only about an hour and a half away (by train) from West London. It’s right in the beautiful Somerset countryside, near Stonehenge, the Cotswolds and Glastonbury.

Of course you must go to the Roman Baths in Bath! It is truly a beautiful, amazing sight to see. It’s also considered one of the ten world’s greatest ruins and it is a world Heritage site. You can take a tour with a guide or wander around freely on your own.

People go to Bath for it’s ancient Roman architecture, the famous thermal spaces and to see many of the places Jane Austen chose for the settings in many of her novels. I went during Christmas and the beautiful Christmas markets are definitely worth visiting as well!

If you’re planning a visit to London, make sure you add in a day or two at Bath! You won’t be disappointed.
